简介
罗格斯大学新伯朗士威校区,（Rutger Univerity New Brunwick） ，是罗格斯，新泽西州立大学（Rutger, The State Univerity of New Jerey）一个最大的分校，也是美国新泽西州的最大高等学府。罗格斯大学另有两个分校在纽瓦克和肯顿。罗格斯大学由29个大学学院构成，其中16个学院并另提供大学以上之研究所或专业学位。罗格斯大学提供超过100个学士学位、100个硕士学位以及80个博士或专业学位。
罗格斯大学是在美国第八个成立的高等学府，原本于1776年成立时称为皇后学院，起初是一个荷兰改革派教会学校，但现在学校本身并没有与任何宗教有附属关系而校方也对学生没有任何宗教上的要求。新泽西州州议会分别于1945年和1956年通过法案将罗格斯大学指定为州立大学。1946年罗格斯大学将纽瓦克大学并入，从此有了纽瓦克分校。1950年罗格斯大学将南泽西学院并入，从此就有了肯顿分校。
建立时间1766年11月10日 。在美国，新泽西州，新布朗斯维克/皮斯卡特维，纽华克以及肯顿。学校里的学生数量有38,576名本科生， 12,904名研究生，教师数量教职员2,552人 ，校园面积超大。罗格斯大学的主要校园位于新布朗斯维克和皮斯卡特维，另有两个分校在纽瓦克和肯顿。罗格斯大学由29个大学学院构成，其中16个学院并另提供大学以上之研究所或专业学位。罗格斯大学提供超过100个学士学位、100个硕士学位以及80个博士或专业学位。罗格斯大学是新泽西州在美国大学联合会(Aociation of American Univerity)唯一一所公立大学。另外一所加入该组织的本州大学是普林斯顿大学(Princeton Univerity)。该协会的其他会员都来自于北美以研究为主导的著名大学。
罗格斯大学是一所在美国享有盛誉的公立大学。其中新布朗斯维克分校（又译作新伯朗士威分校）以科学研究见长，拥有数量众多的世界一流学者在此任教，是美国科研实力最强的大学之一，现有49位美国科学与艺术学院(AAAS)院士，18位美国国家科学院及工程院院士在此任教，并有5位校友及教授曾获得诺贝尔奖，4位教授获得普利策奖，一位教授曾获得过被称为”数学界诺贝尔奖“的菲尔兹奖，一位教授获得过权威数学奖项沃尔夫奖。
罗格斯大学拥有200多所研究中心及机构，国际知名的如卫克曼微生物研究协会(Wakman Intitute of Microbiology); 分子和行为神经研究中心(Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neurocience); 儿童及儿童时期研究中心(Center for Children and Childhood Studie);量子材料理论计算中心(Center For Material Theory)；高能粒子理论研究中心（New High Energy Theory Center）等。
罗格斯大学也以培养政治家、企业家和商人著称，建校300年间培养了大量政治、企业精英和富豪。其校友中既有州长、副总统、国会议员这样的政治精英，也有接近100名毕业生在如福特(Ford Motor)、摩托罗拉(Motorola)、美国银行(Bank of America)等若干世界著名公司和银行、传媒机构出任总裁和副总裁。更有一些娱乐和体育明星，艺术家，哲学家毕业于该校，使罗格斯大学同时拥有浓厚的艺术和人文氛围。
地理位置
新泽西州New Jerey东临大西洋，北接纽约州，西南与宾州接壤，总面积为20295平方公里，人口为800万。新泽西州有21个县，主要城市有纽瓦克、泽西市、毛里斯镇、卡姆登、帕特森等，其中最大的城市为纽瓦克市。该州首府为特兰顿市(Trenton)。 新泽西州处在人口集中、经济发达的美国“东北走廊”的中心地带。东北走廊系指连接缅因州、波士顿、康州、纽约市、新泽西州、宾州、华盛顿特区、巴尔的摩市以及弗吉尼亚南部地区的一大片区域。2003年新泽西州州国民生产总值为3974亿美元，在全美各州名列第八。2004年美国《财富》杂志(Fortune)评选的全美最大的500家大公司在新泽西州有23家，在全美各州中列第7位。 新泽西州各类企业20余万家，就业人数达364万人。其中四分之一的人拥有大学或大学以上的学历。全州共有14余万科技人才，州内共有55所大专院校。
牛血社
“牛血社” 1834年成立于罗格斯大学，“牛血社”是一个与“骷髅会”有着许多共同之处的老牌大学兄弟会。每年，“牛血社”成员都会挑选出12名新生，邀请他们在来年加入“牛血社”。被选中的新成员必须对其母校的主要竞争者普林斯顿大学实施一系列别出心裁的恶作剧，以证明他们的忠诚。他们最著名的一次恶作剧发生在1875年，那一次他们偷走了普林斯顿大学校园里的一尊加农炮。“牛血社”的成员里包括诺贝尔奖获得者弥尔顿·弗里德曼，美国前副总统加勒特·A·霍巴特，以及美国联邦调查局前局长路易斯·弗里。
